Safety Not Guaranteed

Safety Not Guaranteed: An unusual ad, a stranger person, but a heartfelt and warm journey ★★★★

Don’t get this film wrong, it is a quirky, time travel movie that’s not exactly about time travel or what your initial thoughts may be suggesting to you, as such, but so much more than the usual clichés you come to expect of time travel films – It has a heart and a serious point, a film about nostalgia and ambition, paranoia and vulnerability. Beautiful screenplay and characters with personality and depth ensures that the meandering plot is funny, romantic, and full of little surprises that culminates in an enjoyable, open ended, if quick at under 90 minutes, film. Whilst the plot is enjoyable and generally meaningful, the same cannot be said of the sub-plots, but the charming performances from the entire cast, particularly that of Duplass and Plaza make this gently told film well worth watching.

    1. Great! I’m glad I was able to show you something new and exciting enough to be able to make you want to see it. Watched it a while back when I was in London for Sundance and I needed to put up a review because I thought more people needed to know about it.
