The Walking Dead S01-S02

The Walking Dead is a superb adaption of the comic of the same name, focusing on a group of survivors in a zombie apocalypse and the way in which they interact and live together being the core focus of the series. The attempt to develop the characters adds something that the zombie genre never appears to do properly and makes this a far more compelling series to follow thanks to the lovable characters that give us a lot of moving and touching moments throughout both seasons, along with the expected action and blood as well as some comical moments along the way. Tough decisions have to be made by the group in order to survive and often those decisions come with conflict that poses the potential to be the most harmful factor in their survival and makes for exciting watching.

  1. Love the show. Even though they have deviated so much from the books. The last 2 issues were jaw dropping just like every episode of this brilliant show.

  2. Glad to see some fans of the comic books actually applauding the show’s deviations from the comic book source. I love the original source, but to watch a show where we know what will happen next each and every time gets old.

I do think that some of the changes to characters from book to show has made certain characters too different from the original. A big example being Andrea. I admit I like that they’re adding some complexities to her character, but they sure made her out to be quite the annoying one in the beginning. It’s a good thing they’re finally turning the corner and putting her on the path to being the badass she continues to be in the books.

    1. i think that’s a big reason as to why I enjoy it so much – the fact that there are deviatations keeps it fresh. And it has done well to capture the comics feel, so I have been very happy in watching this. As you say, some changes to the characters feel like too much, but sometimes these added complexities makes it interesting. Nice to see her becoming more like the badass she is though too. Thanks for the comment!

  3. I went and read the comics after…one of the few times I agree with changes and updates for the tv show. Hopefully I can find a place to watch them online for season 3! One of the shows I’m really going to miss…

    1. Yeah, it’s nice to see it from the perspective of someone who watched and then read, so to see how they viewed the changes as you knew the people from the show first. It’s nearly here, can’t wait. Hopefully you’ll get a chance to catch it.
